Our Own Ventures
Before we open the Center on the National Mall, we want to bring new opportunities to experience our nation's creativity and ingenuity to Washington, DC.
Our first two programs will be:
Makers on the Mall is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness where people show what they are making and share what they learn. Part Do-It-Yourself and part Popular Mechanics this festival’s mission is to entertain, inform and inspire “makers” of all types. The first-ever, featured Maker Faire is coming to Washington, DC in 2014. Check it out at MakerFaire.com.
We are looking for makers, partners, volunteers, and friends to join us and spread the word. Sign up and let us know you’re interested.
Entrepreneurship as Citizenship is a redesign of the class trip for the 21st century. The Center will work with school districts to inspire our students -- our next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs -- when they come to DC for the annual educational pilgrimage. We will educate and engage students about their possible role in America’s future.
